Role Description 

We are looking for a sales representative to join our Versailles Wines marketing team. You would be joining a brand-new team with the opportunity to participate in and shape all aspects of the marketing and sales division and function for Versailles Wines. 

Key Responsibilities: 

You will be working closely with the head of operations and be responsible for the following: 

  • Sales and generating new clients. 
  • Co-ordinate and manage all sales related admin and activities. 
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with the different clients (CRM – Client Relationship Management & Marketing). 
  • Contribute to the overall marketing strategy and objectives. 

The key responsibilities mentioned above will be implemented across all external marketing and sales activities. The daily tasks will include: promoting sales, servicing existing clients, and establishing new accounts, focusing on sales strategies, resolving issues or complaints in a timely manner, cold calling potential clients, keeping up-to-date on current market changes and trends. 

Sales and generating new leads: 

  • Selling company products in order to generate profit. 
  • Looking for potential new clients and buyers. 
  • Explaining the benefits of the products and services we sell to new customers in order to promote and build loyalty to the brand. 
  • Tracking volumes, numbers, and margins by reviewing sales reports. 
  • Achieving weekly, quarterly, monthly, and annual volume and margin sales targets. 

Co-ordinate and manage all sales related admin and activities. 

  • Providing customers with an expected budget, payment agreements, and delivery estimates. 
  • Managing pricing and sales data, as well as activity reports. 
  • Conducting post-sale follow ups in order to assess and assist customers with any problem or inquiry they may have. 
  • Performing various administrative duties, including preparing expense and commission reports. 
  • Tracking volumes, numbers, and margins by reviewing sales reports. 
  • Working closely with operations and customer support to ensure customer satisfaction. 
  • Order taking and processing through the correct channels. 

Contribute to the overall marketing strategy and objectives 

  • Continue assessment on different marketing and sales needs and develop initiatives to support. 
  • Ensure that all sales material is developed according to the corporate identity (C.I). 
  • Contribute to the brand strategy and execution thereof. 
  • Coordinate and assist in the execution of: 
    • Sales brand elements 
      • Sales toolkits 
      • Sales videos 
      • Vehicle branding 
      • Branded clothing 
    • Website: 
      • Assist in identifying information needed/ requested by clients to keep the website updated. 

Establish and maintain professional relationships with current clients 

CRM – Client Relationship Management & Marketing 

  • Developing strong relationships with key accounts to maintain a high level of service and client loyalty. 
  • Establish and maintain customer communication: 
    • Ensure communication to all customers on new products, trade deals, specials, stock and availability. 
    • Effective customer relationship management and visiting customers. 
    • Achieve 100% call rating according to calling cycle. 
    • Managing client relationships through all phases of the sales cycle. 
    • Dealing with customer queries 
  • Continue assessment on client and operations teams – CRM needs and assist in supporting these needs. 
  • Contribute and assist in the execution of: 
    • CRM Strategy 
    • CRM Brand Elements: client facing templates/ documents 
    • Sales CRM elements: promotional gifts, client events, training 

Contribute to the overall marketing strategy and objectives 

  • Keeping up-to-date on current market changes and trends: 
    • Staying up to date with the latest trends in sales and the field of our product. 
    • Monitoring market fluctuations, tendencies, and trends as well as following competitor’s activity. 
  • Brand Awareness and consideration: 
    • Contribute to the brand awareness campaigns and execution thereof. 
    • Continue assessment on the sales team brand awareness needs and assist in supporting these needs. 
    • Knowing who the opposition brands are and tracking them to know what they’re doing. 
    • Contribute and assist in the execution of the following marketing activities: 
      • Versailles Events 
      • Versailles Wine Tasting 

The person for this role: 

We are looking for a sales representative with the ability to inspire genuine trust, someone who is excited to meet new people and has the ability to build strong relationships. We are looking for someone who is addicted to the rush of making a sale and finding new clients. If you are a person who care about your clients and will consistently follow up to ensure client satisfaction, someone who thrives under pressure and has the ability to close deals, you are the person who we want on our team. 

Minimum requirement 

  • Grade 12 qualification 
  • 3 – 5 years’ sales experience in the alcohol/ wine industry 
  • Valid drivers’ licence 
  • Proven sales success rate 
  • A proven record of excellent client relationship management and communication
